Many thanks for the replies -- yup, that 1st edition of _The Guild
Handbook of Scientific Illustration_ is the one I was seeking! I wasn't
even aware that there was a second edition and that all the authors were
different -- who's the author of the paleo chapter in the newer tome?
Authors aren't listed in the viewable TOC on Amazon...
