The Size of Birds
In the course of my studies, I have found that very little information is
available on the
lesser-known Mesozoic birds. I am doing a project concerning the avialans
("avialaeans"? That one
wasn't in HP Keesey's list :)
and have found that, except for a few famous members, there is almost NO
information available
about any of those stupid birds. For many of those species, I could not even
find their size.
Since relative size will be important for my project, I ask this to the
listserve:
About how large these species were ?
"Archaeoraptor " (the bird part)
Jibeinia luanhera
Changchengornis hengdaoziensis
Confuciusornis sanctus
C. chuonzhous
C. dui
C. sp.
C. suniae (if different from type species)
Noguerornis gonzalezi
Otogornis genghisi
Platanavis nana
Gansus yumensis
Liaoningornis longiditrus
Of course, if anyone has any other interesting information (or pictures!) to
add about those birds,
I would love to hear it.
