AMNH Down Under
I received my centennial edition of Natural History magazine today. Besides
the last installment of _This View of Life_by Stephen Jay Gould, there is a
very interesting little supplement titled_An Expedition Notebook, 1900-2000_,
detailing various expeditions of the AMNH. Apparently, Henry Fairfield Osborn
was planning to create a hall of Australian life back in the early 20's of
the last century. In the Natural History supplement there is reproduced a
Chas.R.Knight sketch of what have would have been the centerpiece diorama.
William King Gregory led the expedition to collect specimens according to the
article. I thought you OZ folks might be interested.
