Iguanodon type
This paper may be of interest to this list:
ICZN (2000). Iguanodon Mantell, 1825 (Reptilia, Ornithischia): Iguanodon
bernissartensis Boulenger in Beneden, 1881 designated as the type species,
and a lectotype designated. Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature. March 31,
2000; 57 (1): 61-62.
The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature is given as the
author. The jury is in, and, as the title says, _I. bernissartensis_ is the
new type species for _Iguanodon_, replacing the old one which was based only
on teeth. This means that the type species for _Iguanodon_ is no longer a
British dinosaur, but a Belgian species.
