SAURIERLAND WESTFALEN (Westphalia, Land of the Saurians) video series (in German)

The Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) has created a new 3-part YouTube video series that looks at fossil "Saurier" finds in the Westphalia region of Germany now in the LWL Museum of Natural History in MÃnster. It's aimed at a general audience and so is fairly light on technical details, with an inquisitive, eager host (Fabian Nolte) interviewing paleontologists and others. It's all in German.

SAURIERLAND WESTFALEN | Wiehenvenator - Das Monster von Minden, Folge 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC_iW2ddFYU

The first episode is about the Jurassic theropod Wiehenvenator - The Monster from Minden, with background info on the discovery and a look at the fossils on display. The skeleton is incomplete, but a (speculative) life-size fleshed out model was created for a fully grown individual--the actual fossil animal died at around 9 years old based on growth rings and so was a sub-adult and a bit smaller than the model. The dinosaur was washed out to sea, where it was found in marine deposits. (There is no English translation provided and the closed captions in German are automatically generated for now,Ânot transcribed for better accuracy. The name Wiehenvenator gets completely garbled in multiple (sometimes amusing) ways...)
