A basic problem with Procheneosaurus is that the type is a juvenile -- which is discouraged albeit not barred by the ICZN -- without an adult crest, and is correspondingly problematic in being diagnostic, it may be the juvenile of potentially more than one lambeosaurine. The poor diagnostic attributes of the taxon alone is solid reason to reject it in favor of Lambeosaurus based on a diagnostic adult holotype with a mature crest.
