Re: [dinosaur] Online Fundraiser Dino Nerds for Black Lives set for this weekend

Note that the linked video is only one portion of the stream; the complete stream was recorded in separate sessions (with breaks usually occurring between transitions between different individuals hosting), which can be found here. (We have removed a couple of recordings that contained unpublished material.)

The Twitch website will only keep these videos for two weeks from the time of recording, but we intend to break them down into more manageable segments and upload them to YouTube in the near future.

I've been contacted by Margaret Dickson of the University of Illinois at Chicago with a request to post info on the Dinosaur Mailing List about an online fundraising event set for this weekend (June 19-22).Â

Info is now online at:

From the website post:

A variety of guests across the paleontology community - individuals from Darren Naish to Thomas Holtz to Pete Makovicky and more - are planned to talk about their work and answer questions given by those who donated.

"We hope to see you all there from 6PM (Pacific Time) on June 19th until Midnight on June 22nd (Pacific Time). The twitch channel for the project is https://www.twitch.tv/dinonerdsforblacklives. Â"

From an email:

"We are looking for individuals to appear for 30 to 60 minutes via skype or zoom to discuss their paleontological research, or any related topics they wish. We'll be handling the technical capabilities, so familiarity with streaming is not needed on their part. We're also flexible on timing given that we'll be streaming continuously through those dates."
