Ancient rock art from Colombia showing Pleistocene megafauna (including giant ground sloths) may prove Macrauchenia and litoptern kin did indeed have trunks, contrary to some recent analyses. The clearly depicted three toes would set the animals apart from deer or other ungulates. The rock art will be featured in an upcoming episode of the UK television series Jungle Mystery: Lost Kingdoms of the Amazon.
