Seriously, how much bad faith is needed to go to the trouble of asking
a question that could be answered by two seconds worth of googling?
Shiny is an R package; that alone should tell you that there is
nothing wrong with R, and that no one is trying to imply the opposite.
As to why people might want to use Shiny rather than base R -- well,
the workshop description does a pretty good job of answering that,
doesn't it?
