Post for SVP Auction
Posted on behalf of Brent Breithaupt
Howdy from Wyoming!
This year is the 30th Anniversary of the SVP Auction. I would like to
encourage everyone attending this year's annual meeting of the Society
of Vertebrate Paleontology to add at least one item for the auction in
their luggage. This year's proceeds will support the SVP Education and
Research Fund. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Please drop off items at the registration desk at the meeting. To be
successful, we need as many donations as possible. These may include
fossil replicas, books, reprints, artwork, toys, t-shirts, whatever
(excluding fossils). No one has an excuse for not bringing something.
No item (new or used) is too small nor too big. If you don't have
something in your possession that you wish to part with, go to your
local stores and pick up some fun, prehistoric animal novelty items.
In addition, unusual or eccentric items are always encouraged, as over
the past three decades we have auctioned off some very unique things.
Finally, we need you to attend and bid early and often at both the Live
and Silent Auctions on Friday night. Beautiful artwork, display-quality
casts, rare and unusual books/reprints, as well as hundreds of other
items are scheduled to be on auction. So, be prepared to buy for your
institution, yourself, or for others. As always, the Auction Committee
will be there to take your bids and entertain you. Hopefully, this
auction will be one that you remember.
Thank you in advance for making the 30th Anniversary SVP Auction a fun
and fabulous success.
See you in Raleigh!
Cheers,
Brent Breithaupt
