I do not know the level of preservation in the case (Currie, et al) behind the above link, but perhaps some experimentation with artificial dino teeth on a ptero-bone analogue from a suitable extant animal (bitten green bone vs bitten dry bone) would be useful and doable.
Or perhaps alligator and/or shark teeth would work better than artificial teeth...
Does anybody have suggestions as to what animal would provide the best ptero-bone analog?
