As a former Raleigh resident who has given various live specimens of native 
fishes to the NC Museum of Natural History over the years, including a 2ft 
"Sleeper" that one night jumped out - waaah!, I can say that it is a very nice 
place.  Nobody will ever confuse it with the Smithsonian or Chicago's, but if 
you wish to relocate I don't think you'd be disappointed.  Just MHO.
