Hanging around for two hundred seventy years apparently has imparted strong
survival power to the Ginkgo.
In _The Simbley Guide to Trees_, the author says: "Four Ginkgo trees
[situated] about a mile from the 1945 atomic blast at Hiroshima, Japan were
among the very few things that survived, and [they] soon regained their full
health."
