post K-T fossil record "reappearance"

What is the latest information on when a significant number for fossils start 
to appear after the event?

Note that does not mean the same thing as a 'recovery' - just curious when it 
looked as if life-forms seemed to have begun making a comeback.

Also, the period immediately following the K-T - I think I read somewhere an 
opinion that the first million years or so were not conducive to the formation 
of fossils - what are your views?
