While Augusto's idea sounds fine on the surface,
I don't know how well it would fly with public at the food market:

Giraffe - $5.99/lb

Sloth - $2.95/lb

Condor eggs - $3.99/dozen

   and so on.

Also don't know how practical it would be to keep a rain-forrest rhino as a 
pet, for example.  Or a gharial in the backyard swimming pool ...
