Mientras que la mayor parte de los afloramientos del área de Los Cayos 
(Cornago, La Rioja) han  proporcionado casi exclusivamente icnitas de terópodos 
no avianos, Los Cayos S y D han aportado, por  el contrario, pisadas fósiles de 
saurópodos y de ornitópodos respectivamente.
