Hi,
the official lithostratigraphic scheme for the German Jurassic is not 
yet released, however a draft is published here:

The Holzmaden beds belong to the Posidonienschiefer Formation. Previous 
schemes are dating back to the 19th century and are highly overfraught 
with local synonyms and homonyms (hence the "official release"). The 
term "Formation" was not used in the old names.

Posidonienschiefer means "Posidonia shale" (although the bivalve 
"Posidonia bronni" is now known under various names, including 
Steinmannia bronni or Bositra parva - don't know which one is presently 
en vogue).
