calling it quits after simply broadly outlining of the resulting
roadkill.
I haven't seen the paper, but usually specimens from such laminated rocks
are not merely roadkills. They are roadkills that have been split down the
middle! Through the bones in many cases! This means the bone surfaces are
still stuck in the matrix, facing away from you, and that makes even the
sutures difficult to trace.
