Re: NASA Mars mission funding - better spent on paleo?



Another space junkie reporting that NASA confirmed the landing on Mars of the Phoenix probe at 7:55 p.m. EST today, although the landing actually took place about 10 minutes earlier :)

Amazing stuff, no doubt. Let's hope solar panels deploy OK and the that the little bugger can get to work!

I still think developing the technology for establishing permanent, independent colonies on the Moon, Mars, and in the asteroid belt is among the most important projects we could spend money on. Well worth doing. It has the potential for saving us.
