"Malcolm C. McKenna, a paleontologist  who hunted fossils from the Rockies to 
the Gobi Desert, from Patagonia to the  Canadian Arctic, and who published an 
authoritative classification of mammals,  died last Monday in Boulder, Colo. 
He was 77."
