haven't seen it.. and not really willing to pay money to do so (it only 
encourages them), but this movie poster shows quite conclusively that Smilodon 
evolved as some sort of digging felid. even with its jaws far agape, it could 
barely bite anything.

What a silly model. I know these things aren't supposed to be scientifically 
accurate, but this looks like some sort of gopher.
