Pachycephalosaurs
[This message posted to both DML and VertPaleo mailing lists]
LISTERS --
Jack Horner's Austin talk suggested that, based on evidence of rapidly growing
bone, Dracorex and Stygymoloch might be immature forms of Pachycephalosaurus.
On the drive home I visited the New Mexico Museum of Natural History in
Albuquerque and saw two pachy skull fragments on display. One dome was roughly
5"-6" across, the other more like 3". Could someone from the NMMNH (or other
knowledgeable person) please tell us how these specimens might fit into the
new scenario? (Are these possibly Stegoceras? Have they been checked to see if
the bone was still actively growing at time of death?)
