I'm saddened to report that Polish paleontologist Karol Sabath, who
was best know in paleontology for his works on tyrannosaurids, passed
away on October 10th at age 44. He will be deeply missed.
Here in Poland, he was widely known to the general reading public for
popularising paleontology and evolutionary biology, and (last but not
least) for opposing creationist movements. He regularly cooperated with
the Science section of Gazeta Wyborcza, the largest of our serious daily
newspapers, and contributed his own articles as well as helping the
editors to maintain a high standard of popular science publications. A
very sad loss!
