How do you pronounce an r like a vowel?
No, you _use_ it as a vowel, instead of a vowel, in the role vowels play in
syllables, as a "syllabic consonant".
Take the middle syllable of "Internet". For many Americans nothing would
change if it were spelled _drr_ instead of _ter_; the _e_ is just there for
historical reasons. That's what I mean.
