Well, it would require the tail being bent to a degree by the weight of the 
body, which is slightly different than the tail bending 'by itself'. But, as 
mentioned, I do not know. Could you be a little more specific?

That would imply the proximal tail bending through closer to 90deg.
Surely a tyrannosaur couldn't do that?!
