By "archetypical", I meant the image of the "raptor" in the public 
imagination, the type exemplified by the large dromeosaurids seen in 
Jurassic Park, the Turok games, etc. Perhaps "stereotypical" would have been 
better. Choice of words notwithstanding, Utahraptor is clearly closer in 
size to what laypeople think of when they hear "raptor" (in the non-avian 
sense, of course) than Velociraptor.
