received no mention in the literature? or online? If you have any
data other than hopeful imagination, please share it.
Unfortunately it is _normal_ that one of two slabs is lost, presumably in
the field.
Whether a slab has been split through the fossil or not is, however, easy to
tell from looking at the fossil or at _not too small_ photos of it. And of
course, the fossil is probably always the weakest part of a rock, so if you
split a slab, you split the fossil...
