Careening off the thread, I'm reminded of the old Li'l Abner comic
strips
and an interesting bit of trivia. The strip's creator, Al Capp,
was very
unpolitically correct. He had two characters, Lonesome Polecat and
Hairless Joe who
resided in a cave making this incredibly powerful liquor called
Kickapoo Joy
Juice. Living with them in this cave was the occasional great
dinosaur or
other prehistoric animal. As a kid they were my favorite part, of
course. It
wasn't until only a few years ago I learned the strip at that time
was drawn by
the great master, Frank Frazetta (ghosting for Capp). No wonder! His
Moonbeam McSwine wasn't bad either! DV:
