New head of USGS
Forgive me this is a little off subject but is important to Geology
as a whole in America. There are paleontologists on the USGS so....
It was announced today that it is President Bush's intention to
nominate Mark D. Myers as new director of the USGS subject to
confirmation by the US Senate. He was a north slope sedimentologist/
petroleum guy and former head of the Alaska Division of Geological
and Geophysical Survey. This will hit the news wire shortly.
