The issues that everyone seems to be overlooking are that: 1) The
Cambrian-Ordivician boundary (the extinction horizon) is not *that* well
chrono-dated; and 2) that the newly reported Australian plateau basalt
has a not-so-miniscule error bar associated with its date(s).
Both of these facts make dubious the claim that the Oz basalts are
associated/correlated with the extinction horizon (at least for now).
