The largest living and flying alcids; the maximum
possible wing loading with which Neornithes can still
achieve active flight is fairly exactly 23 kg/sq m,
IIRC.
Why is that the maximum possible wing loading for active flight? What are
the constraints?
I note in passing that Thick Billed Murres seem to be one of the more
heavily loaded, at about 18.44 Kg/S.M.
