Re: Upcoming Movie "Night at the Museum"

I was visiting the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History several years ago while they were filming a scene for the first Spiderman movie. If you are familiar with that museum you will recognize the rotunda with it's marble columns as the place where Peter gets bit by the mutated spider. The movie mentions that it's the biggest facility of it's type on the East Coast!

The sets were built on a soundstage either in Hollywood or, more likely,
Vancouver, based on the AMNH. The exteriors were shot at the AMNH. Robin
Williams appears as Teddy Roosevelt. This fits in with the TR memorial on the
Central Park West entrance of the AMNH. DV

The trailer scenes sure look based on AMNH to me, all the way to it being called the "Museum of Natural History," which was what my family called it. I wonder if they shot any scenes in the areas not open to the public, which are neat to visit and probably could be made to look really spooky.
