Re: Taxon sampling
It's been mentioned on the DML before, but let me also recommend:
Lee, M. S. Y. 2005. Squamate phylogeny, taxon sampling, and data
congruence.
Organisms Diversity and Evolution 5 (1): 25-45.
It's a fantastic practical example of how increased taxon sampling (and
in particular fossil taxa) can lead to improved congruence between
phylogenetic datasets.

Subject: Taxon sampling
Though I haven't read it, I can probably recommend this paper:Â

phylogenetic problem?, Systematic Biology 47, 9 -- 17 (1998) Â
