That is AFAIK true.

I bet that whatever the closest known relative to bats is, it is "the tooth, 
the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth", so we'll have to fear about 
long-branch attraction...

(In fact, some end-Paleocene teeth from Wyoming have been suggested to be 
around the ancestry of bats in an SVP meeting abstract.)
