Re: Reference for _Chubutisaurus_

Dear Mike:
I have Corro's 1974 paper in front of me. Therein he describes the theropod *"Megalosaurus" chubutensis*, and doesn't mention *Chubutisaurus insignis* at all. The "Corro 1974" reference should be a mispell for "Corro 1975".
Hope this helps,

Matías Soto

Subject: Reference for _Chubutisaurus_

Dear DML, Paul, Matt, Darren --

I'm trying to track down the reference for the basal titanosauriform
sauropod _Chubutisaurus_, which I have seen cited in several venues as
"Corro 1974" (e.g. Upchurch et al. 2004 in _The Dinosauria_, 2nd Ed.;
Glut's _Dinosaurs: The Encyclopedia_; dinodata.net). The problem is
that the bibliographies for all of these sources list the only Corro
1974 reference as:

Corro, G. del. (1974). Un nuevo megalosaurio (Carnosaurio) del
Cretacico de Chubut (Argentina). Communicaciones
Mus. Argent. Ciencias Nat. "Bernardino Rivadavia"
Paleontol. 1: 37-44.

which on the face of it is describing a theropod; and they all also
include this reference:

Corro, G. del. (1975). Un nuevo sauropodo del Cretacico
superior. Chubutisaurus insignis gen. et sp. nov. (Saurischia,
Chubutisauridae nov.) del Cretacico superior (Chubutiano),
Chubut, Argentina. Actas Congr. Argent. Paleontol. Bioestrat.
2: 229-240.

My question: should the citation in fact be Corro 1975? Or did the
"1975" paper in fact come out in 1974? Or could it be that the 1974
theropod paper initially erected _Chubutisaurus_ as a theropod, and
the 1975 one moved it into Sauropoda?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who's able to help me out. (Of
course, PDFs of the two papers involved would be the best and most
definitive help if anyone has them!)
