Phylip for Cladistics

Has anyone use the "Phylip" suite of programs to do a cladistic
analysis?  Am I right in thinking that "pars" is the most appropriate
of the Phylip programs to use for this?  I would very much appreciate
seeing a correctly formatted example Phylip/pars input file.
