Shuvosaurus, second impressions

Upon comparing Chatterjee's Shuvosaurus with that of Rauhut, one is
immediately impressed with the interpretational differences between the
two. And this is a 3d fossil the size of a man's hand!

No wonder others can't get together on the 2D roadkills that are
anurognathids!

Be that as it may, I would like to see the bar raised a bit on these
specimens. Photographs need to accompany the drawings. Drawings alone,
especially if they diverge to the extent of Shuvosaurus 'chatterjee' and
Shuvosaurus 'rauhut, ' leave the reader scratching his/her head.

PS. Regarding Shuvosaurus, one thing the two workers agree on is a
quadratojugal with two anterior processes. What's up with that??

One explanation might be found in ticinosuchids and aetosaurs, as well
as others, in the acutely angled quadratojugal that often forms a
triangular intrusion into the lateral temporal fenestra along with the
squamosal. Perhaps what we see in Shuvosaurus is a derivation of same.
