RE: New papers on the dinosaur formerly known as Syntarsus (no more "Megapnosaurus")

The new *C. rhodesiensis* specimen QG165 is described as having a "crest"
much lower again than in *C. kayentakatae* (3 mm). However, this "crest"
may exist only on the right side of the skull, and the authors consider it
more probable to be an artefact of distortion.
A similar thing was once said about certain _C. bauri_ specimens from the
Ghost Ranch quarry; these also appeared (probably misleadingly) to show
incipient crests.
Speaking of the Ghost Ranch _Coelophysis_, there's this from the NMGS Annual
Spring meeting (2005) Abstracts volume:
Rinehart, L.F., Hunt, A.P., Lucas, S.G., and Heckert, A.B., (2005).
Coprolites and cololites from the Late Triassic theropod dinosaur
_Coelophysis bauri_, Whitaker Quarry, Rio Arriba County, NM. New Mexico
Geology 27 (2): 53.
Apparently Rinehart &c provide additional evidence that _C. bauri_ was a
cannibal that ate its own young.
