It looks like the general agreement is to give everything to Fabio and cover his extra loose ends. The price of gas certainly has been a factor these days. It costs me 30 bucks to drive my pickup to Gillette these days and a fill up is 80 bucks. I bet it is worse in Italy.

May I suggest give everything to Fabio. There are always extra expenses
and the difference is not that much, so a little more will always help
(maybe for extra equipment or transportation).
I think a DML fund for future grants is also a good idea and can be
opened, but... just in case.


I second Luis' comments.

Particularly as the price of travel is related to the price of jet fuel, which is linked to the price of petroleum, which isn't
likely to get better anytime soon.


Let's hope the DML doesn't follow the standard Academia model, and start taking off it's 45% (or so) overhead...
