 A few possible lambeosaur specimens were known long
before Boyd's work. See The Dinosauria.

 The Horseshoe Canyon formation suggests Edmontosaurus
preferred near marine habitats whereas lambeosaurs
were somewhat more inland. The Scollard was farther
inland than the Hell Creek. If lambeosaurs were rare
in the Hell Creek because of a preference for more
inland environments, they should be better represented
in the Scollard. Unit 4 indicates they were once
common in that area, but appear absent in the lower
Scollard, equivalent to the upper Hell Creek.
