So Arens may well be right. Btw, Russell suggested
years ago that the absence of nodosaurs from the upper
Hell Creek was due to regression, causing the near
coastal Edmontonia to abandon the supposedly
increasingly inland Hell Creek. How probable does that
now appear in light of evidence for transgression
toward the end or lack of draining?
