Mark, In the first place, if you carefully read  the original post, you will 
see that those are not my words, OK? Someone far  more sinister is to blame 
(insert smiley face quickly then run away).   However, I do think this is a 
significant find especially in regard to the size  of the mammoth's ears. I've 
seen many paleoartworks (created by actual observers  of the then living 
animals), both drawn or sculpted representing the woolly  mammoth and often as 
not the 
ears are either missing or indicated as rather  small features covered by the 
"woolly" coat. I wish there were better  photographs available of this find 
on-line. DV
