Re: genomes divergences during metazoan evolution
Quoting "calzola@iol.it" <calzola@iol.it>:
Seven distinct genome-wide divergence measures were applied pairwise
to the nine sequenced animal genomes of human, mouse, rat, chicken,
pufferfish, fruit fly, mosquito, and two nematode worms
(Caenorhabditis briggsae and Caenorhabditis elegans).
So...
Three archontans (sensu novo, including rodents), a bird, a teleost, two
dipterans, and two species of _Caenorhabditis_? No lophotrochozoans, acoels,
non-osteichthyan deuterostomes, radiates, or sponges? I realize that's all
that's been completely sequenced so far, but I'd be surprised if you could say
much of anything intelligent based on that sample.
