Though it's possible Mei and Jinfengopteryx are non-troodontid paravians, the latter perhaps closer to Archaeopteryx. The only published cladistic analysis of troodontids are the Theropod Working Group's and Norell et al.'s (2000). The TWG has the following topology-

|  `--Sinovenator
`--+--Sinornithoides
  `--+--Byronosaurus
     `--+--Troodon
        `--+--Saurornithoides mongoliensis
           `--Saurornithoides junior
