Hi All! -

   Thanks for the many (off-list, at least, the only ones I've seen today) 
clues to my absentee documentary!  It is, apparently, called "Capturing the 
Killer Croc" and is about Gustave, a gigantic Nile croc that lives on an 
island in the Razizi River of Burundi.  The DVD is available via Amazon, for 
those interested; Googling "Gustave," "Burundi," and "crocodile" will lead 
you to several web sites on the beast.
