I think that the Bavarian State made a law against the selling of
Archaeopteryx specimens outside Germany, after the discovery of
Archaepteryx bavarica in 1994. 
I am not completely sure about this and I need a confirmation.
Maybe the German members know something about it.
The 10th specimen was in Switzerland before that date, thus should not be
subject to that law. Anyway I would like to mention the law, if existing,
in a short comment on the specimen for the Italian issue of Scientific
American.
