I'd add weight and aspect ratio to that, and do an analysis of variance. Plus, confirm the mechanism by which birds open those slots. I doubt that albatrosses for example, can open such slots. Birds that open such slots are simply modifying the balance between profile and induced drag (increasing the effective aspect ratio and the Ozwald Efficiency factor).

Assumption: any volant bird can stress it's wing such
that the tip feathers have spaces between them.
Definition: birds that can open aerodynamically
significant spaces at will... and define spaces
relative to wing area and Re???
