Not exactly dinosaurs but..

I found a reference to these two placental orders in a text about the Fayum 
formation. Subsequent googling of the names didn't give to many informative 
results.

Is there any list member with more information about these groups, such as 
if they're afrotheres, what did they look like and what is the reason for 
placing them in seperate orders?
