altho not a paleontologist, i find it fascinating.  in fact, i find it 
much more depressing the animals we are currently driving into extinction 
rather than the ones who were extinct before my time (perhaps the 
tasmanian wolf is the closest i come to finding it depressing -- i've seen 
the films of them and it's like seeing a living dinosaur).
