Re: Yet Another Dino Extinction Theory: Verneshot

This hypothesis seems to require that such an explosion a) can occur at
all -- does someone know something about the gas contents of flood
basalts? -- and b) produce ONE chunk of rock many km across, instead of
billions of fragments. I have thought about nominating the authors for the
IgNobel Earth and Planetary Sciences Prize (their discovery "cannot" and
most probably "should not be reproduced"), but IgNobel Prizes are not
awarded if there's some danger that people's carreers could be damaged, so I
haven't done it.
In any case I would like to learn something about that alleged circular
gravity anomaly under (?) the Deccan traps.
